Eight local youth have been named members of the 2025 Montgomery County Agricultural Fair’s Royal Court. They were selected based on; leadership, involvement in the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair (MCAF), 4-H and their communities and public speaking ability. The 2024 Fair King and Queen, continue their reign until this year’s Coronation on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 6 p.m. Coronation follows the annual Fair parade which begins at 5 p.m. at the Fairgrounds.
Anvita Divvela is 17 years old and a rising senior at Damascus High School. She has been in 4-H for 11 years. This is her second year on the royal court. Anvita is currently the president of the Montgomery County Teen Council, vice president of the Damascus Community 4-H Club, a member of Maryland’s 4-H State Council, and will be a camp leader at 4-H Camp Tawasentha this summer. In November, she will be attending National 4-H Congress. She was a member of the Maryland delegation for the 2023 National 4-H Conference.
Anvita has been involved with the fair since she was a clover, both exhibiting and volunteering. She has entered various projects, including crochet, paintings, flowers, cooking, and baking. Her main passion, however, is sewing, and she enters numerous clothing projects every year. She has participated in the Project G Street sewing competition for the past two years and won awards. She also loves volunteering at the big cheese, info booth, and ice cream parlor! Outside of 4-H, Anvita participates in her school’s marching band, where she is the captain of the color guard team. She is also in choir, theater, science Olympiad, as well as various honor societies. She is very excited to be in the royal court again and is looking forward to meeting many amazing people!
Amelia Martin is fourteen years old and a rising freshman at Winston Churchill High School. She has been a member of the 4-H rabbit club for 2 years. She has been attending 4-H Camp Tawasentha for the past five years, and volunteering as a teen leader for the past three years; this summer Amelia will be returning for her sixth year and taking on the role of her kingdom’s princess. Along with this, Amelia is a member of the Montgomery County 4-H Teen Council.
Throughout the week at the Fair, Amelia loves to spend her time volunteering at the rabbit barn, and submitting indoor entries including baking, paintings, and woodworking. Outside of 4-H, Amelia enjoys playing Ice Hockey and swimming throughout the summer, as well as volunteering as a pre-team coach. At school, Amelia is a member of the “No Place For Hate” club, as well as an avid member of her school’s band; she is continuing to pursue it throughout her high school career.
Amelia has reached almost 200 service hours through volunteering at 4-H and is very excited to expand her knowledge and experiences within the program. She cannot wait to show her rabbits again this summer and is anticipating the new friendships and experiences throughout her first year in the Royal Court!
Logan Monarch is 17 years old, entering his Senior year at Damascus High School. He started showing Dairy Goats as a 4-H Clover when he was 6 years old. He has continued to participate in the 4-H Dairy Goat Club. He has held several leadership positions over the years and is currently the club president and the secretary of his school’s FFA. Logan is also actively involved with the Damascus Boy Scout Troop. He is working on moving up the ranks and is currently the troops assistant patrol leader.
This is Logan’s third year as a member of the Montgomery County Agricultural Royal Court. Logan is a fourth-generation volunteer with the Agricultural Center and his goal as a member of the court is to encourage younger kids to get more involved in the fair to assure that the long-standing traditions will be able to continue. After being on court, he would like to be able to participate on the Jr. Board.
Putting in close to 700 hours volunteering on the grounds between fair hours and SSL, he enjoys helping in many different ways. Prior to the fair he has assisted in putting up signs and installing the fencing, as well as helping to build some of the great things you can see in KidZone. During the fair he enjoys showing his goats, helping in KidZone and reconnecting with his fair family. He hopes to be a successful member of the Royal Court for as long as he can.
The last few years have been advantageous for 11th grader Noah Morris. He serves on the University of Maryland’s State Extension Advisory Council (SEAC), Maryland Students Against Drugs (MSAD), and Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS). He has also been a long-time member of 4-H and is currently the Secretary for the Maryland 4-H Youth State Council. In addition to these roles, he is the General Secretariat of his local Model UN Team and a Youth Advisory member of the Montgomery County Democratic Party.
He has also been supporting his business, Morris Soap Garden, an Etsy store that offers gifts like homemade soaps, candles, and bath bombs. In his college years, he would like to pursue a career in the political and environmental sciences, for he believes that advocacy is the future of America.
Kyrksen “K.L.” Plano-Faber, a 19 year old homeschooled rising senior, is excited for his first year as a member of MCAF Royalty. Previously, K.L. has served as the King of the Damascus Community Fair (2019-2021), and an Alternate Ambassador at the 2025 Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. K.L. has been volunteering at the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair since he was 11, earning his Life membership in 2023. A member of 4-H for nine years, his projects started with electricity, public speaking, and small engines and expanded to leasing dairy goats and sheep to learn more about husbandry, development, dairy, wool and meat. He is becoming a member of the Maryland Farm Bureau to keep learning.
Leadership positions across 8 4-H clubs included 8 stints in 4 of those as Treasurer, Secretary, or both, President of the Advanced Electricity Club 4-H Club in its last year, and K.L. is the current President of the Lucky Clovers 4-H Club. You can also find him learning, playing or volunteering with Dairy Goats, Sheep and Swine, Horsin’ Around and Inventors Clubs, and he tips his hat to Back in Time 4-H who started him unofficially as a ‘4-H fan’ until finally registering after 5 or so years, later electing him as an officer, and Clarksburg Helping Hands which helped him get started officially and gave him his first elected office. K.L. is glad to be part of the Maryland 4-H State Council, looking forward to presenting at Maryland 4-H Teen and Volunteer Forum and being a Maryland Delegate to National 4-H Congress in Atlanta this coming November.
Additionally, K.L. is proud to be a pending Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s honor society and the HST Thespian Honor Society, and an alumni Delegate of the State Department’s Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange. Lela Steele is a rising sophomore who has been in 4-H since she was 8 years old. She is currently the treasurer for the 4-H Horse ‘N’ Around club and Co-President of the 4-H Kids ‘N’ Dogs club. She is a member of the Montgomery County Teen Council and is a teen leader at 4-H camp.
Lela loves 4-H and all the friends she has made in it. Each year, she competes in the Montgomery County Fair horse and dog shows. She also submits many indoor entries, ranging from painting and photography to crocheting and small crafts.
The Montgomery County Fair is definitely the 9 best days of summer. It prepares her very well for the Maryland State Fair, where she was last year’s Intermediate English Pleasure Horse Division and Intermediate High Point Rally Dog Division Champion.
At her first fair, Lela talked to the public about her pony, starting her journey to overcome her fear of public speaking. Since then, she has competed in public speaking contests at the county and state levels. She encourages other kids to step up and conquer their fears, too. Lela can not wait for the fair and is excited to speak to the public as a part of the Fair Royalty this year!
Hannah Williams is fifteen years old and a rising junior at Glenelg Country School. She has been in 4-H for six years and is Vice President of the Horse ‘N’ Around club. She is also Vice President of the Montgomery County 4-H Teen Council and is the Treasurer of the 2025 Maryland 4-H State Council. Hannah is also a delegate to the 2025 National 4-H Congress and will compete at Nationals for horse communications in November.
Her favorite parts of the Fair are participating in the horse activities, being on the royal court, and submitting 4-H indoor entries, which have included baking, family life, photography, and a lot of arts and crafts. Outside of 4-H, she is a member of her school’s drama club, Model U.N. club, president of the MockTrial Club as well as a player on the J.V. badminton team. She actively volunteers at 4-H camp and Days End Farm Horse Rescue.
Hannah is currently completing her Diamond Clover Level 6 service project and was a 2025 recipient of her school’s Community Service Award for achieving 100+ hours in community service. This is Hannah’s second year on the Royal Court, and she is looking forward to meeting new people, eating at the Big Cheese, and enjoying some ice cream!
Hi, my name is Abby Worth. I’m 18 years old and a freshman at Montgomery College. I have been in 4-H for 13 years, and this is my third year on Royal Court. I have been a Fair-goer, volunteer, and exhibitor at the Fair since I could walk, and enjoy working at the 4-H building, the Big Cheese, and the Pre-Fair work days every year. I am currently the President of the Maryland 4-H State Council, a member of the Montgomery County 4-H Teen Council, a member of the Damascus Community 4-H Club and a delegate to the 2025 National 4-H Conference where I presented to the National Museum of American History on the 250th Anniversary of our nation.
Outside of the fair and 4-H, I enjoy practicing and teaching Kendo as well as Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, playing the drums and ukulele, doing arts and crafts, stamp collecting and baking Gluten-free delights as well as cooking. 4-H has given me confidence, leadership experience, life-long friends and memories that I will pass down to the leaders of tomorrow as well as cherish for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to be a role model for youth just like the Royal Court has been for me!
